Somewhere for iPhone
Something broken, or something you want? Write to support@somewherecamera.com. A person reads it. Include your iPhone model and iOS version, and it gets sorted faster.
The three steps
Clean finds distracting objects in your frame and lists them. You tick the ones you want gone, or type in anything it missed. The app repaints the frame without them.
Crop cuts many candidate crops out of your photo and runs them against each other over three rounds with twelve judges. The winner is the one with the most votes. Every finalist stays available — you can take a different one.
Proof sends the chosen crop to twelve photographers' looks and brings back twelve versions. Tap one to keep it.
Common questions
A face or a hand came back wrong.
This is the known weak spot of image models and the reason we say it out loud on the front page. Every render is instructed to leave faces and hands alone, and it usually does, but not always. Undo and try that step again — results vary run to run — or choose a different artist's proof.
The text in my photo is garbled.
Somewhere locates text in your original and restores it into the render afterwards. When the text is small, angled, or partly hidden, that restore can miss. Re-running the step sometimes catches it.
The crop cut off someone I wanted.
The judges optimise for composition, not for who's in it. Every candidate crop the search produced is kept — open the crop strip and take a different one, or leave the frame uncropped and go straight to Proof.
A step failed or hung.
Steps need a network connection. If one fails, the app keeps your work and you can run it again from the same frame — nothing before the failure is lost.
My proof is too small to print.
Proofs come back at roughly one megapixel. Once you've picked one, upsample it to 4K — that's the version to print. For the untouched full-resolution file, Export can save your original instead.
The app can't see my photos.
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Somewhere and allow access. Somewhere reads only the photo you open.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app. Every session, plate, crop and proof lives inside it and goes with it. Anything you already exported stays in your Photos library.
Reporting something worse
If Somewhere produces output you believe is harmful, or you have a rights concern about an image, write to the address above with the details and it will be looked at.
