Terms of Use

Installing or using Somewhere means you accept these terms. They are short on purpose.
Apple requires that every app either use Apple's standard licence agreement or publish its own. This is ours, and it stands in for Apple's default. Apple is not a party to it, but Apple may enforce it against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Your licence
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Somewhere on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app.
Your photographs stay yours
You keep every right you already had in the photographs you put into Somewhere, and in everything the app makes from them. We claim no ownership and no licence to use your images for anything — not for promotion, not for training, not at all.
You are responsible for having the right to edit the photographs you use, including the rights of anyone who appears in them.
What the app produces
Somewhere edits photographs using generative AI. That means the images it returns are altered, and they can be altered in ways nobody asked for. Read the results before you use them:
- Hands, faces and fine detail can come back wrong.
- A render can invent detail that was not in your original scene.
- Text is restored from your original where the app can find it, but not every case is caught.
Do not present output from Somewhere as an unaltered photograph of real events, and do not use it where an accurate record matters — news, evidence, identification, insurance or anything similar.
Photographers named in the app
Somewhere names well-known photographers to describe the look of a grade — the way a film stock or a lighting style gets named. Those names identify a visual approach. They do not imply the photographers, their estates or their representatives endorse, license or are involved with this app in any way.
Fair use
Don't use Somewhere to make material that is illegal, that harasses or defames someone, that sexualises minors, or that is designed to deceive people about real events. Don't try to break, overload, or automate against the service.
Third-party processing
Somewhere sends the photograph you are editing to Google's Gemini API to do the work. Your use of the app therefore also runs through Google's terms for that service. See the Privacy page for what is sent.
No warranty
Somewhere is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, it may fail on a given photograph, and a result may simply be bad. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app.
Some jurisdictions do not allow those limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law permits, and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
Changes and ending
These terms may change; the date at the top will change with them, and continuing to use the app means accepting the new version. You can end this licence at any time by deleting the app.
